Purpose of the role
Responsible for overall risk governance for APAC region, developing and executing entire regional strategy of risk oversight / management and activities and corporate risk areas for APAC including Singapore Branch. Develop and execute regional enhancement and integration of risk management frameworks and processes across branches within APAC region.Close communication with Head office is expected
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute entire strategy of regional risk oversight/management and activities for APAC and corporate risk areas, collaborating with relevant divisions, head offices, and risk teams globally/regionally/locally, and ensure alignment with the organization’s overall strategy and regulatory requirements of the countries.
- Execute and manage implementation plan of new development, enhancement, and integration of risk management frameworks and governance processes across branches, collaborating with relevant divisions, head offices, and risk teams globally/regionally/locally
- Develop and manage expense and investment budget plan of entire ARMO and risk teams across branches, in terms of cost efficiency for sustainability.
- Promote and increase operational efficiency of processes and practices, includes but not limited to existing reporting
- Understand strategy of Business Units and Supporting Functions as required and share with relevant parties as required to improve organizational capabilities.
- Review & challenge as 2nd line to relevant 1st lines as appropriate, while focusing on instilling risk ownership within 1st line
- Partner with relevant divisions and functions or offices to promote risk governance and right level of risk controls by collaborating with each risk stripe within APAC region
- Support local risk team by capturing local agenda through participation of local committees etc.
- Manage group collaboration required to strengthen regional governance including partner banks, securities, and trust banks etc.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the team and to a positive and engaging work environment.
- Manage robust overall risk governance and framework for APAC, including corporate risk areas such as risk appetite framework, risk recognition/overview and key risk indicators etc.
- Support risk governance and framework of relevant risk areas as appropriate
- Manage and execute functional reporting line and expense budget planning matters for regional and local risk teams within APAC.
- Manage required oversight of group entities such as partner banks (Security Bank and Vietin Bank) and MGS etc.
- Manage required participations of projects and initiatives such as local/regional/global enhancement of risk governance and risk controls.
- Manage regional/Singapore risk agenda at relevant committees such as regional/Singapore RMC/ORMC etc., collaborating across ARMO depts. as required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Japan-based bank.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial banking and risk management, including experience in global and regional initiatives.
- Experience in project management.
- Good stakeholder management and presentation skills with ability to influence others and drive change.
- Strong knowledge in Enterprise/Operational risk management
- Effective communication skill to deliver complex ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
