  1. Technical and Commercial Strategy:
  • Develop and implement strategies that align technical capabilities with business objectives.
  • Ensure projects meet technical requirements while maintaining budget and commercial viability.
  1. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical and commercial solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise during pre-sales activities, including proposals and bids.
  1. Project Management Support:
  • Oversee the technical aspects of the projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Work closely with project management teams to monitor project performance and resolve any technical or commercial issues.
  1. Cost and Profitability Management:
  • Analyze the cost structure of technical solutions and ensure profitability by optimizing both technical execution and commercial performance.
  • Prepare and manage the financial aspects of projects, such as budgets, pricing, cost estimation, and profit margins.
  1. Market Research & Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, technologies, and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and innovations to propose advanced technical solutions that can add commercial value.
  1. Team Coordination:
  • Coordinate with technical teams (engineers, developers, etc.) to ensure they understand client requirements and deliverables.
  • Ensure effective communication between commercial and technical departments for seamless project execution.
  1. Contract Management:
  • Review and negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring alignment with both technical and commercial aspects.
  • Ensure that the company’s legal and financial interests are protected in all agreements.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks in both technical and commercial aspects of projects and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Address issues such as cost overruns, delays, or changes in scope with both technical solutions and business approaches.
  1. Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, providing updates on project status, financials, and market trends.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of project specifications, budgets, and technical solutions.
  1. Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Education: A master’s degree in engineering, business management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Typically 5+ years of experience in a technical and commercial management role in Marine Electronics.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the technical aspects of the industry (engineering, Marine Navigation & Communication).
  • Business Acumen: Strong knowledge of commercial processes, including budgeting, pricing, sales, and contracts.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience managing or supporting projects, with knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts and pricing terms with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly resolve technical and commercial challenges during project execution.
  1. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CRM or ERP software - SAP.
  • Knowledge of specific industry tools or technologies related to Marine Navigation & Communication

12 Work Environment:

  • This role often involves working across departments, meeting with clients, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
  • It may require travel for site visits, client meetings, or industry events.
