As our Global Corporate & Institutional Banking (GCIB) Asia franchise matures into providing more content and advisory to its strategic clients, we are constantly looking for additional product/solution content that allows us to differentiate MUFG and drive conversation with the clients C-Suite.

This has led to establishing a product agnostic and relationship focussed Solutions, adding value to the firm’s deepest relationships and delivering multi product opportunities for the bank with high returns. The team will consider key issues including regulation, accounting, rating agencies, cross border issues, ALM and more.

We are developing our Solutions team in both Singapore and Hong Kong. To support our strategy, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President to join us. The successful candidate will also contribute towards aligning the solutions strategy with the broader GCIB business strategy, cutting across all product lines and client segments.

This is an exciting opportunity to actively manage and pursue opportunities such as reinsurance collateral, liquidity management, M&A financing, global markets (derivatives and FX), and financing.

What you'll do:

As Vice President, Solutions GCIB Asia, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's business. You will be involved from idea generation, transaction structuring to execution in conjunction with the relevant product teams.

Your ability to actively identify, develop and promote new business will be crucial for this role. You will also have direct interactions with customers assisting them with their requests. Your commitment towards ensuring adherence to all Regional/ Country Risk and Compliance requirements will be highly valued.

  • Contribute in creating and implementing the strategy for the GCIB with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support in managing target clients through implementation of a deep account planning process.
  • Work with product partners to market & deliver the Bank’s worldwide products and services.
  • Achieve Revenue target at segment and client levels while managing balance sheet to achieve above target ROE.
  • Actively identify, develop and promote new business and relationship management with client groups in cross selling a healthy product mix.
  • Support the Solutions team in managing customer needs.
  • Directly interact with customers as required from time to time to assist with ad hoc customer requests.
  • Introduce clients to affiliates & partner banks; explore new opportunities as One MUFG.
  • Active involvement in Cross-Regional activities by collaborating with local RMs/GRM.
  • Ensure adherence to all Regional/ Country Risk and Compliance requirements.

What you bring:

As the Vice President, Solutions GCIB Asia, you will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role. Your educational background in Actuarial / CFA / CAIA qualifications would be favourably considered. You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in areas such as Banking, Insurance, Financial Markets, Accounting or Legal.

Your experience in roles such as coverage, analyst, advisory, product or solutions specialist will be highly valued. Your strong stakeholder management skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with other departments. Your deep understanding of Capital/RWA solutions, rating agencies, cross border issues, ALM, accounting, local finance laws, taxation and regulations be crucial for this role.

  • Bachelor’s Degree holder.
  • Actuarial / CFA / CAIA qualifications would be favourably considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in areas such as Banking, Insurance, Financial Markets, Accounting or Legal.
  • Experience in roles such as coverage, analyst, advisory, product or solutions specialist.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments.
  • Deep understanding of Capital/RWA solutions, rating agencies, cross border issues, ALM, accounting, local finance laws, Taxation and Regulations.
  • Credit Analysis skills.
