Job Responsibilities

To develop and submit the Annual Fire Safety Management Plan for client’s review by fourth quarter of the year
To formulate Fire Emergency/Evacuation Plans and procedures of the hospital. To ensure that plans and procedures are regularly updated as necessary
To organise Fire Safety Committee and/or CERT team, implement fire safety rules and regulations as required by the Singapore Fire Safety Bureau. To ensure compliance of fire safety rules and regulations
To develop programs to train hospital staff in basic fire fighting and rescuing. To meet the target set on performance indicators
To train staff on the use of basic fire fighting equipment. To coordinate, record and conduct fire drills as required by Singapore Fire Safety Bureau
To conduct regular inspection, identify, record and take immediate action to rectify potential fire hazards within the hospital.
To ensure all fire protection equipment are in working condition and meet requirements of the Singapore Fire Safety Bureau. To conduct regular inspection, identify, record and take immediate action to rectify potential fire hazards within the hospital. To liaise with contractor(s) on the maintenance of all fire fighting equipment and to ensure all maintenance are carried out and recorded to meet the regulations of Singapore Fire Safety Bureau. There should be scheduled inspection to validate such compliance.
To liaise with other Ministries on Fire Safety matters and to promote the awareness of fire safety. To coordinate with FSSD on fire matters. Create awareness programme.
Plan, prepare, check and endorse all safety plans before any works are carried out by in-house staff, sub-contractors and any other parties working on facilities maintenance and infrastructure upgrading works in the Hospital.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Building Services Estates Management) with Senior Fire Safety Manager Certificate from SCDF or
Diploma in Engineering (Building Services & Fire Safety) from Ngee Ann Polytechnic
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in this position
