Process Engineer

Time: 9 - 6 pm

Basic Salary ranges from $4500 to $5500 (Depending on qualifications and experience).

Other benefits include transport allowance and basic medical coverage, annual leave, paternity/maternity and compassionate leave.

• Assist Production Manager in the daily running of production department.
• Design and develop the pilot process plant for upscale production.
• Develop product testing protocols and procedures based on product specifications to test and determine the full operating profiles.
• Lead in troubleshooting of process equipment and machinery when required
• Assess processing suitability according to varying criteria including performance, ease of manufacturing, reproducibility, and scalability
• Consolidate operating parameters and other observations in a clear and structured format/template
• Develop framework and manage safety records such as SOP, SWP, GMP and RAM.
• Work closely with the formulations and product development team to achieve optimization in processes in terms of efficiency and cost.
• Carry out quality control for in-house development and customer samples
• Work closely with business team and customers/industry partner for pilot trials, implement their feedback and improve existing product to achieve customer specification.
• Development of a suitable manufacturing process for the product formulation.
• Production of sample batch in lab scale and pilot scale.
• Responsible for effective technology transfer and upscaling to commercial scale batches
• Work closely with other departments to validate manufacturing methods for production scale batches.
• Train production personnel on manufacturing processes.
• Trouble-shooting in the process matrix for routine production.
• Maintain and document quality records with regards to processing units and machinery.
• To establish and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices for all commercial projects.
• Mentor and manage junior staff.
• Prepare progress update and presentations
• To ensure all GMP quality related records are kept properly

• Have a Bachelors / Masters in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related field
• Have knowledge on process design software such as CHEMCAD, CHEMPRO, AspenPlus and/or other related software.
• Have a good knowledge of industrial processes and best practices in chemical plants.
• Have a good knowledge in HVAC systems
• Self-directed learner, ambitious with desire to succeed and positive attitude towards learning
• Experience in coatings/paint would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of chemical handling.
• Project Management expertise
