Job Description:

• Responsible for defining and implementing the company’s sourcing strategy across his/her categories in collaboration with the Sourcing Director
• Drive sourcing strategy to support strategic opportunities, global balance and achieve our financial plans
• Partner with vendors to deliver high-quality, trend-right merchandise at great value for our customers
• Establish a strong supplier base and develop alternative solutions to achieve product and business objectives
• Responsible for new supplier/factory recommendations and selection
• Lead the onboarding of new suppliers/factories and continuous improvements of related processes
• Partner with vendors to deliver high-quality, trend-right merchandise at great value for our customers
• Work with a cross-function team including Meijer Merchants and Product Development teams to turn ideas into the merchandise in our stores
• Drive reduction of lead times and supply chain speed in order to help Meijer be first to market
• Utilize negotiating skills and costing expertise to ensure quality/cost, and deliver maximum bottom-line impact
• Manage multiple product categories with varying levels of detail
• Perform any ad-hoc tasks/projects when required

Job Requirement:

• Degree educated in business or related discipline
• 10+ years relevant merchandising experience, preferably with a buying office
