System Server Maintenance engineer - Tampines

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and support the seamless operation of IT services.

Job Scope:

1. System Administration and Maintenance

• Manage and maintain backend systems, servers, and IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments.
• Perform regular system health checks (daily, weekly, and quarterly) to ensure optimal system performance and stability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
• Oversee system updates, patches, and configurations to maintain security and compliance.

1. Monitoring and Reporting

• Continuously monitor server performance, resource utilization, and system logs to identify and address potential issues.
• Generate detailed reports on system performance, health status, and maintenance activities for review by management.

1. Backup and Recovery

• Ensure proper backup procedures are in place for critical data and systems.
• Regularly test backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and quick restoration in case of failures.

1. Security and Compliance

• Implement and enforce system security policies, including user access controls and operating system hardening.
• Monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities by applying security patches and updates to systems.

1. Collaboration and Support

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
• Provide technical support and expertise to end-users and team members as needed.

1. Optimization and Continuous Improvement

• Analyse system performance trends and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to implement innovative solutions.

1. Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

1. Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (e.g., RedHat, Ubuntu) operating systems.
• Experience in backend system management and server administration.
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and utilities.
• Understanding of backup and recovery tools and processes.
• Handles Backend Activity, Systems, Server, Windows, Linux
• Daily, Weekly, Quarter System checks and System Health Checks

1. Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

1. Certifications (Preferred):

Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server are advantageous.
