The role covers contract review across APAC and Japan (including contracts written in Japanese).
Key Responsibilities- Manage the workflow and contract review process for a variety of contract types, beginning with receipt of requests for contract generation through routing for signatures and final distribution.
- Assist with maintenance and improvement of contracts management processes and systems as well as implementation and enforcement of contract policies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams during contract review, acting as a key contact for the legal department by providing guidance on commonly requested edits, non-standard terms, policies, questions, etc.
- Review proposed modifications to contracts and work with internal business partners and third parties to negotiate terms and obtain approvals for modifications as required.
- Draft and revise contract wording to address various situations as they arise.
- Maintain processes between the legal department and other groups, collaborating to continually improve the contracts administration process.
- Assist with legal review and response to requests for proposals (RFP/RFI/RFQ).
- Complete assigned projects as determined by needs of the business and department.
- Handle some compliance, regulatory and/or internal policy matters
About You
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of experience managing contracts (including drafting and negotiating preferably subscription/technology contracts) and contractual operations in a corporate environment.
- Relevant experience in a legal setting e.g. law firm
- Fluency in Japanese
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Any legal qualifications or studies e.g. paralegal certification
- Able to review and negotiate documents such as NDAs with minimal guidance.
- Able to draft amendments related to Order Forms and Subscription Agreements.
- Has experience in handling compliance, regulatory and/or internal policy matters
- Ability to follow written processes to ensure successful and correct completion of assigned work.
- Ability to set priorities, be flexible and handle multiple tasks, and to track and follow up on projects.
- Detail oriented, meticulous and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable working collaboratively in a team environment with all levels of the company, including executive management and sales teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, maintain patience in high pressure situations and take initiative where appropriate.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with a contract management system, i.e. SFDC, Apttus
- Experience with electronic signature software, i.e. AdobeSign (preferred), DocuSign.
- Strong persuasive abilities, including outstanding influence and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output, team oriented, practical environment.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for solving problems and adding value to the Company.
