Data Center Technician, Colocation Operations - Google
Google Singapore River Full-time

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware
- Experience with networking protocols
- Experience with performing component-level repairs on IT equipment
- Ability to lift/move equipment and ability to exert yourself physically over extended periods of time
Preferred qualifications:
- 3 years of experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
- Experience in maintenance of server systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and network issues using Linux tools.
- Knowledge of Networking, including topology and protocol understanding.
- Excellent communication skills.

As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster).You'll also take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. Responsibilities- Contribute to efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center infrastructure.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolve critical technical issues.
- Test and troubleshoot new server and network hardware components and designs.
- Install and maintain switches, routers, and other networking gear.
- Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS-related issues.
