Mechanical Engineer - Bukit Batok

Primary Function:
Provide mechanical engineering with responsibility for the design and analysis of mechanical systems, automation, tooling, jigs, and fixtures of diverse complexity and scope.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Learn and review existing mechanical-automation systems and equipment in order to provide necessary changes. Changes may include part adaptation, process improvements and cost reduction.
- Responsible for the static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, automation, tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
- Develop design documentation required to support manufacturing, assembly, and system performance verification. This includes 2D and 3D CAD files, test documentation, manufacturing and/or assembly instructions, troubleshooting, operating manuals, etc.
- Conduct feasibility testing on new and modified designs. Establish test methodology, performance criteria, and measurement tooling to ensure functionality in manufacturing setting. Ensure designs deliver the required reliability over part tolerance ranges, operating environments, and projected product life.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience designing equipment and/or tooling.
- Professional design experience with Creo Elements Direct and/or SolidWorks required.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative to identify and solve complex system level issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.
- Ability to plan work and accomplish objectives with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated capability to design plastic and metal parts.
- Familiarity with test design, planning, and execution, including accelerated test methods.
- Excellent analytical and empirical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, basic file structure understanding, networks, and web navigation.
Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
