Part of a support team, the Cloud DBA (database administrator) will:

Manage and optimize cloud databases across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and data security.
Set up database backup, recovery, and access control.

Role and responsibilities

Administer and maintain custom databases (Amazon Aurora, Azure Cosmos DB, Google Cloud Spanner).
Set up and manage relational databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
Set up and manage non-relational databases (DynamoDB, Bigtable, Cosmos DB).
Database Security & Access Control:
Configure user access rights, privileges, and authentication policies.
Monitor database storage and space utilization.
Ensure database encryption and compliance with security standards.
Database Performance & Troubleshooting:
Optimize database performance tuning and query optimizations.
Work with Authority-appointed suppliers to resolve database-related issues.
Database Backup & Recovery:
Implement database snapshot backups and disaster recovery plans.
Maintain version control and redundancy strategies.

Requirements

Required Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.
Minimum 1 year experience managing databases in cloud infrastructure..
Strong knowledge in MSSQL.
Knowledge of MariaDB, Azure Cosmos DB or PostgreSQL would be an added advantage.
Nice to have: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database
