Based in Singapore, the candidate will lead our strategies and stakeholder engagement to support the objectives of Ant International’s public policy and government affairs. He/she will report to our Global Head of International Affairs and Sustainability Strategies and play a leadership role in our growing Product Policy & Stakeholder Engagement team to support Ant International’s mission to be the most innovative and trusted digital innovator in bringing inclusive growth for all.

This role will play a key partnership role to lead high-impact strategy projects to support the development of the emerging business areas and implement enterprise-level strategic focus areas and manage strategies enablement in the relevant markets globally.

He/she will provide the levers and insights to support the development and execution of the business strategic growth and expansion plans and lead development of direction setting, narratives, and coordination of efforts across the resources within international affairs & sustainability strategies to support our business objectives and government engagement.

We are looking to hire a versatile, seasoned professional and collaborator with a deep understanding of the evolving geopolitical and technological landscape. This role will require the successful candidate to collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across diverse professional backgrounds and cultures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide forward-looking strategic advice and recommendations to our businesses and communicate closely with business leaders and other internal stakeholders on key initiatives and business/market trends.
  • Monitor and analyze the emerging policy trends impacting Ant International’s businesses—monitor policy developments in key strategic business areas across the region, anticipate risks and opportunities, evaluate their impact on our businesses, and recommend actions for management’s consideration.
  • Identify, cultivate, and establish strategic partnerships and opportunities with key external stakeholders for engagement to build awareness of the nature of our business and the benefits it brings to economies throughout the region.
  • Work closely with our regional GR team members in developing and executing local stakeholder (including but not limited to policymakers, ecosystem partners, etc.) engagement strategies to support the development of emerging businesses in the relevant markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including academics, industry expertise, and seek opportunities to develop collaborative partnerships with them to drive thought leadership and pave a smooth path for business implementation.
  • Represent Ant International at relevant policy forums and build close relationships with stakeholders involved in fintech, digital payments, cross-border trade, and sustainable development.
Main Requirements
  • At least 10-12 years of public policy and government affairs experience, including experience in government as well as experience engaging government on behalf of the private sector.
  • Demonstrated professional ability and analytical judgment to provide sound geopolitical and policy trend analysis.
  • Understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape of cross-border trade, digital payments, fintech, or the tech sector as a whole.
  • Driven and inherently curious, always eager to find a better way to do things and take things to the next level with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to inspire confidence through effective communication and the patience to work across cultures and time zones.
  • Good at managing executive expectations and building relationships.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
