Network Administrator

Key Objectives:

• Manage and maintain an organization's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network systems to minimize downtime and ensure seamless connectivity.
• Implement and enforce network security protocols to safeguard data and systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Manage user access controls, permissions, and network policies.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups of network systems.
• Perform network upgrades and scalability assessments based on organizational needs.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and encryption methods.
• Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement network solutions for projects and expansions.
• Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and recommend upgrades to improve efficiency.

Role Competencies:

• Strong understanding of network protocols, architectures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficiency with network hardware, including Cisco, Juniper, or similar systems.
• Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN configurations.
• Knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and anti-virus systems.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience:3+ years of experience in network administration or a related field.

• Certifications (Preferred):Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a plus.
