Project Director (Construction) - Pasir Ris

The Project Director is responsible for overseeing and leading construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. This role involves strategic planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.

The Project Director will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to drive project success.

Project Leadership & Execution
  • Oversee all stages of construction projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Create and execute strategies, set objectives, and define schedules.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to ensure success.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

Budget & Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Track expenditures, control costs, and meet financial targets.
  • Negotiate contracts, change orders, and claims with subcontractors and suppliers.

Stakeholder & Team Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, consultants, government bodies, and contractors.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project managers, engineers, and site teams.
  • Foster clear communication and ensure alignment of objectives among all project stakeholders.

Quality & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety measures to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to uphold high construction quality.

Risk Management & Problem-Solving:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Address conflicts and unforeseen challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure contingency plans are in place for potential disruptions.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:

  • Promote innovation and efficiency in construction methods and project management practices.
  • Implement best practices to improve project delivery and team performance.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction laws, contracts, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
