Job Description – Sales Engineer
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for generating sales for projects, products, and maintenance contracts within the auto irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and plumbing & sanitary sectors. You will manage the full sales cycle—from site visits and designing solutions to proposal generation, quoting, and handing over the project to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Target Achievement: You will be given a clear, realistic sales quota for both projects, product sales, and maintenance contracts. Achieving and surpassing your quota will be key to your success. The quota will be discussed transparently during the interview process and is tailored to market conditions and industry standards.
- Site Visits & Assessments: Conduct on-site visits to assess client needs and project requirements, providing expert recommendations on the most suitable solutions. Travel expenses (including fuel and accommodation if necessary) will be fully reimbursed by the company.
- Design and Proposal Generation: Collaborate with the technical team to create system designs and generate detailed proposals and quotations for clients, ensuring they are tailored to client specifications and budget.
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the sales process, from initial contact to project handover. You will serve as the primary point of contact for any queries or concerns, ensuring their satisfaction and continued business.
- Project Handover: Work closely with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition of the project details for execution, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
- KPI Management: Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), focusing on sales targets for projects, product sales, and maintenance contracts. Regular reviews will be conducted to track your progress and ensure support for your success.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies. Leverage this knowledge to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical sales environment.
- Proven sales experience within the auto irrigation, rainwater harvesting, or plumbing & sanitary industries. Experience in designing or engineering such systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to clients and negotiate deals effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven mindset and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales management software. Familiarity with proposal generation and project management processes is essential.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in maintenance contract sales is a plus.
- Strong local industry network and familiarity with the market.
Compensation Package:
- Base Salary: Up to $3,000 per month, based on experience. The salary will be discussed during the interview process.
- Commission: Performance-based commission for sales beyond the minimum sales quota. Commission rates will be provided clearly upon hire.
- Incentives: Additional performance-based incentives for meeting sales targets and securing long-term contracts. These incentives are designed to reward top performers.
- Travel Expenses: All travel costs related to site visits, including fuel, accommodation, and other expenses, will be reimbursed.
