Finance Manager - Singapore Capital Market, Futures Brokerage Company
Job Description & Key Responsibilities: The Finance Manager will oversee the company's financial operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth. The key responsibilities include:
- Implementing and adhering to the company’s financial procedures and policies.
- Advising management on risk exposure and involvement with financial institutions, money market instruments, and treasury management functions.
- Manage the company’s accounting function, including maintaining full sets of accounts, handling month-end and year-end closings, and preparing management accounts.
- Preparing the company’s budget, monitoring financial performance, and analyzing variances.
- Ensuring that the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and capable of supporting current activities and future growth.
- Managing cash flow, overseeing company cash management policies, and handling daily treasury activities.
- Preparing and approving regulatory and taxation submissions, including GST, and corporate tax, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Performing daily accounting duties, PnL and trade reconciliation, and preparing settlement reports.
- Preparing weekly/monthly PnL reports and regulatory reporting submissions to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
- Managing audit, tax filing, and banking documentation, including reconciliations.
- Approving bank transactions, liaising with bankers on financial matters, and managing client money segregation and reconciliation.
- Processing corporate expenses, staff claims, and payments.
- Liaising with external auditors and tax consultants for annual auditing and tax matters.
- Planning and coordinating the annual financial audit process and responding to audit queries.
- Performing the Finance Executive’s duties in their absence.
- Arranging and planning User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for ad hoc projects and system enhancements.
- Supporting and undertaking ad hoc assignments and projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in a numerical discipline; professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
- 3-5 years of experience, including accounting experience in capital markets, futures, and options, or audit firms with exposure to financial industry regulations and MAS reporting.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese to facilitate communication with China HQ and Chinese-speaking clients.
- Independent, cooperative, and strong communication skills.
- Experience in corporate treasury functions is an advantage.
