Job Description:

The role involves managing daily cargo movement, port terminal operations, and coordination with carriers, port authorities, and customs to ensure seamless and cost-effective flow of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage end-to-end port operations including vessel discharge/loading, container handling, and inland logistics.
• Oversee coordination of container pickup and delivery schedules to/from port terminals and customer locations.
• Monitor terminal throughput, berth availability, and yard planning to avoid delays and demurrage.
• Lead a team of port logistics coordinators, truckers, and stevedores to ensure efficient operations.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), shipping lines, and port authorities to resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and standard operating procedures across all port activities.Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in turnaround time, resource allocation, and cost efficiency.
• Implement lean logistics practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service quality.
• Utilize logistics systems and tracking platforms to maintain real-time visibility and reporting.
• Ensure proper handling of port documentation, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of cargo movement, inventory status, and cost controls.
• Work closely with the customs and trade compliance team to ensure adherence to international trade laws.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in port operations or marine logistics, preferably with a global logistics or shipping company.
• Strong understanding of port terminal functions, freight movement, and customs clearance.
• Proven leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in port logistics systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
