Head, Quality, Risk Management & EHS - Choa Chu Kang

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to lead the integration of Quality, Risk Management, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions across our regional operations. This senior leadership role will oversee and align these critical functions, ensuring seamless integration and proactive risk management, compliance, and safety at a regional level.

The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, streamline processes, optimize resource allocation, and foster a culture of safety and quality. The successful candidate will work closely with regional leadership teams and global stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals while addressing regional challenges and regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Enhanced Risk Governance & Proactive Risk Management
  • Develop and execute a unified regional strategy that integrates Quality, Risk, and EHS functions, with a focus on preventing failures, mitigating risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide regional oversight of quality risks, safety risks, operational risks, and regulatory risks, ensuring visibility and alignment with global objectives.
  • Lead and manage regional incident and crisis management processes, ensuring rapid, coordinated responses to quality issues, safety incidents, and operational challenges across the region.
  1. Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization
  • Streamline compliance, audit, and risk management processes across regional operations by eliminating redundancies and integrating key functions such as risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections.
  • Oversee the optimization of regional resource allocation, improving efficiency and reducing costs by centralizing compliance management activities and integrating certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives across the region, optimizing resource use while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  1. Stronger Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
  • Develop and implement a unified regulatory strategy for the region that ensures full compliance with regional and global regulatory frameworks, including safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead centralized reporting and risk monitoring for the region, ensuring consistent and transparent communication to both regional leadership and global stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of regional regulatory changes and ensure timely adaptation of policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  1. Cultivating a Strong Safety & Quality Culture
  • Lead the development of a regional safety and quality culture where risk, quality, and EHS are seen as interconnected. Foster shared accountability among all employees for maintaining operational excellence.
  • Champion holistic training and development programs across the region that integrate risk management, quality control, and EHS protocols, improving regional organizational awareness.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and the implementation of best practices in quality, safety, and risk management across the region.
  1. Regional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary regional leader for all Quality, Risk, and EHS initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams and regional leadership to ensure alignment and drive organizational goals.
  • Engage regularly with global teams to ensure regional strategies align with global priorities and provide feedback on regional needs and challenges.
  • Represent the organization in regional regulatory discussions, audits, and compliance reviews.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles in Quality, Risk Management, or EHS, with a proven track record of managing and integrating these functions at a regional level.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing integrated risk management strategies across a region, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regional regulatory standards.
  • Strong knowledge of regional regulatory frameworks and international industry standards and experience navigating regional differences in compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a history of managing cross-functional teams, driving cultural change, and fostering collaboration.
  • Ability to influence and align regional stakeholders with global priorities while addressing regional-specific challenges.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively with leadership teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications in Risk Management, EHS, or Quality Control (e.g., Six Sigma, Certified Safety Professional, etc.) are highly desirable.
