Construction Manager (M&E) - Bedok

The M&E Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical aspects of construction projects, ensuring that all systems are installed and maintained to meet project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical wiring, and fire protection systems.
• Ensure work is carried out according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
• Monitor construction progress against schedule and ensure timely completion.
• Supervise M&E technicians, subcontractors, and workers on-site.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other supervisors to align schedules and resources.
• Conduct M&E technical meetings and resolve technical issues.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Address defects or non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor quality control and testing & commissioning activities.
• Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or hazards on-site.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and building codes related to M&E installations.
• Assist in preparing submissions for PUB, SCDF, and other regulatory bodies.
• Plan daily activities for M&E teams, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
• Monitor progress and update project schedules to meet deadlines.
• Assist in design works and support design submission and approvals.
• Prepare daily or weekly progress reports for project managers.
• Maintain records of inspections, testing, and system maintenance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of project management experience in building and construction, civil and structural projects, and/or mechanical and electrical disciplines such as Data Centre projects.
• At least 7 years of supervisory experience managing a construction site.
• Knowledge of M&E details, working drawings, and construction practices.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to check combined services drawings and coordination problems with other trades.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, as well as draw detailed coordination drawings and sketches.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time.
