Job Responsibilities
- Initiating coverage on South Asian (India + ASEAN) listed equity names in the consumer space, as per the directions of the team. Fundamental deep dive research into companies, sectors and industries
- Build and maintain detailed company models and conduct industry and company specific research
- Conducting company / industry channel checks regularly – performing diligence on specific stocks and industries as directed by the team
- Attending conferences / calls, building primary industry contacts and reporting detailed information gathered from these events
- Working with the relevant sell side analysts, salespeople, and research associates to gleam information relevant to build the investment thesis
- Keeping up to date with relevant events, news flow and industry. Working with alternative data sets to come to differentiated conclusions
- Making sure all recommendation materials adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and quality
- Committing your daily efforts to the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, and excellence
- The analyst will grow into a role to independently generate and implement investment ideas over time
- 3-5 years prior experience covering India Consumer stocks, preferably at top sell side firms. Preferred candidate should have existing relationship with listed Indian Consumer companies.
- Fluency with local languages a plus
- Employ a solid work ethic and is very motivated
- Detail orientation and intellectual honesty/flexibility. Management degree from top schools along with high numeric ability (Math/Engineering graduates), is desired
- Demonstrated passion for investing. Experience dealing with risk/portfolio and credit strategies is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, writing, verbal communication, and technical skills are desired
