We are hiring on behalf of a Freight Forwarding client.
Reporting to: Branch ManagerGeographical scope: Singapore
MAIN MISSION
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding the company’s client base. He/She should also contribute to the creation, refinement, and execution of the overall sales strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Drive market growth by identifying and securing new Freight Forwarding business opportunities and strategic partnerships, targeting SME and large size companies with decent size of logistics
- Support new business development and expansion of existing services within the organization
- Generate profitable business while targeting larger volume accounts
- Establish and maintain long term customer relationship
- Establish sales strategies, target lists, volume goals, etc. into appropriate market segments.
- Report customer feedback to the Operations team and management, supporting resolutions as required.
- Prepare quotes and RFQs, offer best solutions according to customer’s needs and in close collaboration with Operational team
- Manage client activities including calls, sales presentations, sales pipeline, and sales solutions
- Assure successful client integration & implementation collaboration with operation teams
- Develop extensive market knowledge on key focus trades, carriers, routings, sailings, etc.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing + products
- Minimum 7+ years' relevant experience in Sales in the Freight Forwarding industry with both Account Management and Development
- 2-5 years’ experience in freight forwarding / logistics / transportation industry required
- Proven sales track record in developing new business with existent client portfolio
- Sound understanding and knowledge of Freight Forwarding industry
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize customer requirements to develop innovative solutions
- Being on Europe / Asia / TransPacific trade lanes would be a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good command of written and spoken English
