Our client, a well-established Japanese trading firm, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator (Japanese Speaking) to support their newly formed logistics department. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing global trading activities related to the procurement and sale of non-ferrous products and scrap metals.

Reporting To: This position reports to the Deputy General Manager.

• Analyze shipping market trends and make data-driven forecasts to guide strategic decisions.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Develop and optimize logistics networks for improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee the chartering and operation of shipments, ensuring smooth logistics processes.
• Manage logistics operations for domestic, import, export, and cross-border trade between multiple countries.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the logistics and shipping market.
• Leverage strong personal connections within logistics and shipping companies to enhance business opportunities.
• Handle the end-to-end process of concluding transportation contracts with international customers.
• Negotiate trade terms and conditions with shipping companies to secure favourable agreements.

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in any field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in sea logistics forwarding and who possess experience in ship scheduling and freight rate negotiation.
• Fluency in English and Japanese (minimum N3 level; N2 or above preferred) in listening, speaking, and writing for effective communication with customers regarding documentation and negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of shipping and trade payment methods, as well as vessel arrangements and tracking
