Technical Director Major Projects - Tampines

Mott MacDonald Singapore is currently looking for a Technical Director – Major Projects to lead our major projects in Singapore. You will be part of a dynamic team, working together within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the development of the business and its members.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Be involved in management and delivery of a wide range of engineering projects such as large buildings, deep excavations, MRT and airport/ aviation projects.
• Providing accountability for our delivery of the project.
• Provide leadership and direction to the project team to facilitate successful delivery of the project to time, cost, and quality metrics.
• Maintain strong client relations, acting as the primary point of contact for the Client’s Officer in Charge in respect of day to day delivery of the project.
• Ensuring project performance excellence in delivery and assist in developing the Mott MacDonald technical profile;
• Collaboration with other engineering disciplines and consultants;
• Assisting with scoping, estimating, pricing, reviewing and managing projects;
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical standards and practices and taking a ‘hands on’ in role in both managerial & technical matters.
• Management and coordination of specialist teams (including sub-consultants and architects), for airport wide projects that may include airfield, terminal and surface access areas.
• Adherence to the MM Quality management procedures for implementing projects.

About you:

• Degree in Engineering.
• Chartership of a relevant professional body preferred e.g. Institution of Civil Engineers
• You will be an infrastructure professional with 20 years’ experience working as Project Director across the lifecycle of projects, infrastructure, and developments in top tier engineering firms.
• Experienced in communicating with executive level clients and management of multi-discipline teams, you will have deep experience across one or more client groups in Transport and Buildings.
• Good working knowledge of relevant aviation design standards e.g. ICAO, FAA.
• Clear and efficient verbal, written, visual and presentation skills.
• Experience of writing technical reports to a high standard and presenting project material to colleagues and clients
• Demonstrate leadership potential and ownership of task delivery.
• Good understanding of project contractual and commercial requirements.
• Good understanding of business development activities, and able to demonstrate successful role in bids/tender and developing client relationships.
