Hougang - Youth Worker (Secondary School)
Position Summary
The Youth Worker will play a crucial role in implementing Resilient Minds programs within secondary schools, working closely with at-risk students to provide guidance, support, and a positive, trusting environment. This role involves direct engagement with students, facilitating group activities, providing one-on-one mentorship, and collaborating with school staff to support each student's emotional, social, and academic growth.

- 4x a week (17th February - 19th December 2025)
- 9am-5:45pm

Note: It will take 6-8 weeks for approval so please apply anytime. This is mandatory to work in any schools in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
The Services required are set out as follows:
- To interact with identified students on a regular basis over a prolonged duration (approximately 11 months) and provide positive mentoring and counselling support for students.
- To connect with identified students, build positive relationships and contribute to the holistic development of the students.
- To plan and conduct intervention programmes, including house visits where necessary, customised to students’ needs and aligned to the school’s efforts in character development.
- To observe and identify some of the key needs of the students and to report such cases to the Student Management Key Personnel/ School Leaders for further intervention/ support.
- To attend case review/ case management meetings with relevant school personnel to provide feedback on students’ needs, programme experience and concerns, so that the school can better support the students.
- To conduct themselves professionally in their interactions with the students and school personnel and working with the Student Management and Student Development teams in supporting the students.
- To practise the areas of responsibilities and behaviour during all of his or her school engagements as listed in Annex C – Expectations of Instructor
- Youth Workers supplied by the Contractor shall be registered with the Ministry of Education.
- Youth Workers are required to be registered Social Workers in Singapore or be supervised by a registered Social Worker and have at least 3 years experience or training in fields related to social and emotional learning.
- A tertiary qualification in counselling/psychology/social work, or relevant experience and expertise.
- All Youth Workers should be able to engage and motivate the students in acquiring knowledge and skills via hands-on approach and be skilled in facilitation.
- He/ she should have a passion and disposition for working with at-risk students and their families, and a positive belief in their potential.
All Youth Workers should be competent to handle the tasks and responsibilities assigned.
