The Business Development Manager, APAC will drive customer acquisition and distributor relationships in the region.
Description
The Business Development Manager, APAC is responsible for driving direct and channel/distributor sales of fans & blowers into industries such as consumer electronics, medical technology and personal protection. Given the lean team, the role will be responsible for strategy, implementation, and business development in APAC. Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for:
- Leading sales in APAC by bringing new distributor or OEM relationships to the group
- Managing existing distributor and direct relationships
- Building a strategic growth plan for the APAC business
- Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify trends and opportunities, including relevant regulatory developments in key APAC markets, especially in the medical technology industry
- Partner with HQ in Europe on setting clear goals for revenue and customer growth
- Having a strong understanding of competitors in the industry
- Oversee financial performance of the regional business unit, with accountability for profitability and cost control
- Own the regional business plan covering inventory and production
- Quarterly reporting to the CEO & Global Sales Head on market risks, opportunities, and forecasting
- As revenue scales, hire and coach a team in Singapore / APAC
- Bachelors' Degree in mechanical, industrial or a related technical discipline
- Five or more years or more in B2B products or solutions sales, with a preference for contacts in the medical technology sector
- Strong distributor and OEM relationships in APAC
- Expertise in scaling new markets and project management skills
- Experience in driving consistent double digital growth for a components business and strong knowledge of using CRM tools
- The role requires frequent overseas travel in Asia and Europe - we estimate 50% travel in year oneStrong communication and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work autonomously in APAC
