Manager / Senior Manager, Strategic Research and Translational Thrust (SRTT CID), Research Office

We are recruiting a Manager / Senior Manager to join a multistakeholder team to manage and support the execution of A*STAR's Strategic Research and Translational Thrust (SRTT) as part of Central Initiative Directorate (CID). The SRTT are major strategic programmes in priority areas identified by A*STAR for long-term investment to pre-position A*STAR for advancement in emerging scientific domains.

The key job responsibilities of the Manager / Senior Manager for SRTT CID include the following:

• Manages the administration of research processes
• Secretariat duties for the SRTT Central Initiative
• Executing policies and processes pertaining to the administration of SRTT Central Initiative
• Communication of the SRTT operating framework to the various stakeholders
• Liaising with SRTT Programme Director, Scientific Programme Manager, Central Initiative Administration (CIA) and other stakeholders on pre and post award matters.
• Works closely with cross-functional units to ensure operational strategies are implemented and sustained (eg setup of SRTT)
• Budgeting of SRTT funds and monitoring of the budget utilisation of the various SRTTs
• Regularly reviewing progress of SRTT Programmes to ensure that KPIs, milestones and budget utilisation etc are on track
• Building excellence in research management through the development, refinement and implementation of best practices, within A*STAR.
• Ad hoc support as required

Job Requirements:

• Good Tertiary Degree with good knowledge of STEM discipline
• Minimally 2 years of relevant work experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, including research leaders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Self-starter mindset, resourceful and driven, to deliver results under tight timelines
• Meticulous, well-organised and detail oriented, and able to multi-task
• Experience in data analytics eg PowerBI will be an advantage
