Legal and Compliance Manager - Toa Payoh
Our company is a leading asset management company with businesses comprise of wealth management, fund management and investment advisory. We are looking for a Legal and Compliance Manager to join us in Singapore head office. The Legal and Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance matters for our asset management company and all of our funds that include but not limited to hedge fund, private equity fund and alternative asset funds etc.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) regulations.
- Ensure compliance of all statutory filing requirements including but not limited to MAS statutory forms filings
- Conduct compliance testing and monitoring to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and consent marketing materials, investor communications, and other external-facing documents for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the firm's Code of Ethics and Personal Trading Compliance program.
- Manage the firm's relationships with outside counsel and regulatory agencies.
- Provide advice and counsel to the company's senior management team on legal and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles in the financial services industry, preferably at an asset management company.
- Strong knowledge of MAS rules and regulations (e.g. Securities and Futures Act 2001)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to identify issues and make recommendations for problem solving
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proactiveness to ensure work deliverables
- Good team player
