Toa Payoh - Assistant Director, Finance | Up to $7000 | 6 Months
Duration: 6 Months (Extendable/Convertible)

- Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 6pm
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Reviewing and verifying financial reports and ledgers, as well as reconciling bank accounts and inter-endowment balances, and presenting Management Information System (MIS) reports at Board and Management meetings. These accountabilities will be for all operating units under the Board.
Procurement
Enforce compliance of procurement processes, including tenders and small value purchases, overseeing compliance of open and fair procurement processes. The finance team will thereafter manage payments, track assets and depreciation, and manage vendor relationships.This will include the need to maintain records related to gold and silver assets.
Compliance and Audit
It involves conducting internal audits, implementing controls and providing training to temple administrators on financial processes and systems. Additionally, you will provide support for conduct of external and special audits.
Managing Stakeholders
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities. They should be able to multi-task, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicate complex financial information, and work collaboratively with teams across the organization.A positive attitude, resilience, and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances are also essential qualities for success in this role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, completion of the qualification program which includes exams and work experience by the Singapore Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore) administered by ISCA
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, fixed asset management, and financial governance.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Advanced Excel).
- Strong understanding of Financial Reporting Standards.
- Expert knowledge of Financial Standards for Charities will be an advantage.
- Various financial, GST, audit process knowledge.
