Trade Operations Officer (12-month contract)

This is a 12-month fix term contract position.

Process Development
  • Carry out the running of the day-to-day processing for trade finance related activities such as
  • Cursory checks on the number of original/copies of documents presented to the Bank and tallies with covering schedule/application form.
  • Review the discrepancies pointed out by COE prior to informing customers.
  • Perform Back-to-Back matching.
  • Signature verification on application forms/instruction letters from customers.
  • Liaise with customers to give advice and answer/attend to all customer’s queries and emails promptly.
  • Scanning documents to Head Office for their checking and/or processing.
  • Tracking and monitoring the status of transactions that are sent to Head Office for processing.
  • Follow up on daily outstanding items which are unprocessed or pending at Head Office queue.
  • Maintain proper records of all original trade documents that are held in the Bank.
  • Generate daily reports for reconciliation.
  • Monitor due dates in respect of payments for Trade Finance transactions.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed timely and error free and in compliance with MAS regulation and bank’s policy and procedures.
  • Cover counter duties, if required.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • To ensure all business activities are adherence to all laws, regulations, policies & KYC/AML/CFT Compliance
  • To ensure all information/documents are in order before processing as per regulatory requirements
Data Collection
  • Maintaining proper record of all transactions/ activities as per bank & regulatory guidelines
  • MIS reporting
People Management
  • Maintain punctuality and discipline in the department and branch as well
  • Ensure a good working environment in the dept and branch as well
Customer Service
  • Attend the customers' complaints /enquiries professionally

Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum G.C.E. ‘A’ LEVEL.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs
  • Good understanding and application of the UCP600, ISBP, URC 522

Minimum experience:

  • At least 2 years banking experience covering Trade Finance Operations.
