The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on an 6- to 8-month contract at the Centre for Research in Child Development.

Project Title: Understanding classroom talk in the preschool classrooms

Project Introduction:

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and analytical Research Assistant to join the project. We aim to examine classroom talk in this study.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in psychology, economics, cognitive sciences, education, linguistics, or related fields.
Strong observational skills and keen attention to detail
Strong data analytical skills (qualitative and/or quantitative)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
Enthusiasm about research in social sciences
Strong, self-directed initiative and ability to take on challenges

Responsibilities:

Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses
Review and synthesize relevant research
Organize research data, maintain research records, and document research progress
Assist with coding of classroom talk
Support research team in research dissemination efforts
Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
