JOB PURPOSE

The Regional Associate Engineering Manager leads, guides and manages the Service Engineering Teams to ensure that the Company’s products being used by customers are properly configured and commissioned and can be used safely. To do that, the Service Engineers have to competently check, maintain and support the engineering and technical aspects of the products and troubleshoot and rectify any faults and problems that customers encounter.

CRITICAL WORK FUNCTIONS & KEY TASKS
  1. Commissioning, Maintenance and Service Assignments
  2. Lead, guide and oversee the Service Engineers in various countries to provide engineering (mainly electrical and mechanical) and technical support services to customers for commissioning, preventive maintenance and corrective services. The purpose is to ensure that the equipment/machine are properly installed and can be safely operated.
  3. As the Manager for the Singapore team, allocate work and manage the Service Engineers in Singapore.
  4. Advise and address cases escalated by team members, which is usually done remotely through emails, messaging and telecommunications on a 24 x 7 basis.
  5. Provide engineering support and service for certain products personally.
  6. Review or prepare quotations to tender for service contracts for preventive maintenance and repairs. Decide on terms and pricings.
  7. Where necessary, support the clinical application specialist in attending to cases involving the use of robotics in the operating theatre.
2 Products, Stock & Knowledge Management
  1. Deal with manufacturers on technical issues and spare parts.
  2. Plan and ensure that stock level of spare parts is optimally kept.
  3. Track and ensure that testers are calibrated and checked periodically.
  4. Manage and enforce documentation of all assignments handled to build up a knowledge database for analysis, learning and sharing. Identify common issues and errors and prepare an article or advisory to educate the Engineers.
  5. Prepare step-by-step training materials and operating manual (derived from service manuals provided by manufacturers) for every major equipment to guide the Engineers
3 People Management and Development
  1. Promote and support progressive people management frameworks and policies to better attract, retain and develop talent:

  4. Learning and development framework
  5. Lead performance management and learning & development, adopting and leveraging on Skills Frameworks and other relevant frameworks.
  6. Recruit, orientate, lead and guide the team, ensuring that the day-to-day duties are carried out according to standards and requirements.
  7. Engage, mentor and motivate team members to excel and grow them personally and professionally.
  8. Manage staff issues and appraise their performance
4 Special Projects and Others
  1. Undertake special projects as and when assigned by the management. Eg: In-house POS System, Key Performance Indicators System (Dashboard) and Job Forms.
  2. Perform other assignments and projects as assigned by the management.
