Roles and responsibilities
  • Develop and design infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, buildings, drainage systems, and utilities.
  • Conduct site assessments, including soil testing and environmental impact analysis, to determine project feasibility.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant local regulations, building codes, and sustainability standards.
  • Oversee the construction process from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage resources, teams, and contractors while coordinating with various stakeholders such as architects, urban planners, and government agencies.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality control measures.
  • Implement workplace safety standards in line with local regulations (Workplace Safety and Health Act) and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Liaise with government authorities (e.g., BCA, PUB, URA), contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide regular updates to clients, management, and regulatory bodies about project progress, risks, and any changes.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in specialized areas such as structural engineering, environmental engineering, or transportation planning may be an advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 2-5 years of relevant work experience in civil engineering, particularly in infrastructure design, construction management, or project supervision.
  • Experience with large-scale projects in both the public and private sectors is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, Revit) for design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of construction management systems and techniques.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities, especially in coordinating construction teams and managing contractors.
