Communications and Marketing Manager - Content - Toa Payoh
UWCSEA is looking for a Communications and Marketing Manager - Content to work for both of our campuses.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, the Content Manager is a dual campus role responsible for the development and implementation of College’s content strategy. The purpose of this role is to drive increased brand awareness and engagement through the writing and placement of high quality strategic content online and offline, paid and organic.Attraction and engagement of prospective families and staff is a key focus of this role, in support of the Admissions and Recruitment cycles and related events.
Whilst there are multiple contributors to content creation and distribution, this role has three main areas of responsibility:
- plan content strategy
- execute the content strategy (including writing, and oversight of the online user journey and experience when engaging in content / searching for content)
- analyse, optimise and report on content performance
- Plan and manage a thoughtful content strategy in support of the College’s annual cycle of events, open days, the learning programme and thought-leadership opportunities.
- Craft interesting and high-quality strategic editorial content and campaign material to create awareness and drive traffic to our own channels and publications, experimenting with different formats and channel distribution, designed to bring our target audience(s) in and keep them engaged / take action.
- Stay up to date with SEO trends and ensure online content is accurate, SEO optimised, inclusive and accessible (includes translation work where required).
- Write and proof high value long form content for key reports and publications throughout the year such as the Community Report and Dunia magazine.
- Analyse content performance, identifying opportunities to repurpose and leverage content as well as opportunities to shape strategic comms and marketing plans / decisions.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders (including external publishers and directories), providing exceptional customer service and acting as a professional services liaison between stakeholders and UWCSEA Communications and Marketing.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Min 5 years experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a similar disciple.
- Writing and proofing skills: You need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the ability to source stories from staff, students and parents.
- Project and People Management skills: You must have an ability to plan content in support of key activities, events and announcements. To identify timelines, milestones and contributors then manage the process and people from start to finish with an uncompromising approach to hitting deadlines. You must be able to effectively prioritise and manage your time to address multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities.
- Interpersonal skills: You must be a team player with a willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life and the ability to be flexible and create positive relationships across the College with individuals from diverse communities and culture, You need excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work productively with stakeholders in a cross-functional capacity. You must be able to communicate in a calm and collected fashion. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with leadership and offer your expertise in a consultative manner.
- Creative skills: You must have a storytelling mindset that seeks to understand what and how audiences consume content, how to craft appropriate content and the resources and commitment needed to bring it to life in the appropriate channels.
- Digital skills: Familiarity with tech platforms is essential. This includes: content scheduling, email marketing, project management, multimedia and the Google Suite. A prior understanding of SEO is an advantage.
- Results oriented: you must have a proven ability to prioritise, drive and achieve results through self and others under time pressure. Must be able to record and analyse results with a view to continuous optimisation.
- Safeguarding: Understanding of the issues of safeguarding working with adults and external visitors in the environment of young people
