QA Manager – Yearly Renewable Contract (Food Manufacturing) - Sembawang
Job Description
We are looking for a QA Manager to lead and oversee quality assurance and food safety compliance in our halal-certified food manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role, where the candidate will lead and be actively involved in daily operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, conducting audits, staff training, and improving or creating QA processes.
The role is on a yearly renewable contract, with a possibility of renewal based on performance and business needs, offering a competitive salary above typical permanent roles.

Key Responsibilities
Establishing & Improving Quality Processes- Develop and implement structured QA/QC processes to enhance food safety and product quality.
- Identify critical control points (CCP) and establish monitoring procedures.
- Analyze current workflows to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
- Standardize quality control procedures to ensure consistency across production lines.
- Investigate root causes of quality and safety issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality gaps and inefficiencies.
- Conduct situational assessments to improve real-time decision-making in QA processes.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all processes comply with SFA, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal, and other food safety standards.
- Lead internal audits and inspections, identifying and rectifying non-conformance issues.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive QA documentation for audits and regulatory submissions.
- Train production staff on food safety, quality control, and best practices.
- Establish clear SOPs for handling food products, hygiene, and equipment sanitation.
- Develop a quality culture within the team by reinforcing food safety responsibilities.
- 1-Year Contract, with the potential for renewal based on performance and business needs.
- Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or related fields. (Non-mandatory)
- Candidates without the required academic qualifications but with longer years of experience are also welcome.
- At least 6-8 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the food manufacturing industry. With at least 5 years in Managerial Position.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC and all related food safety regulations.
- Proven experience in process improvement, corrective actions, and compliance management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive situational improvements.
- Bilingual in English and a second language to communicate with a diverse workforce.
- Willing to work in production areas and manage shift-based schedules, including weekends if required.
