Job Description
The jobholder will be managing all aspects of fundraising, including support work for donor relationship building. This critical position involves overseeing vital functions such as gift stewardship and administration and data management.
The jobholder will manage all aspects of donor and prospect databases, develop and implement policies, and coordinate gift processing and stewardship to ensure timely acknowledgement of all gifts.
Additionally, they will provide support for event management, development communications, annual giving campaigns, major gift support, and outreach initiatives. Responsibilities also include managing donor events, as well as crafting compelling development stories.
The jobholder will assist in facilitating meetings and implementing the decisions made by the CEF Fundraising Committee.
Role and Responsibilities- Fundraising strategy and planning
- Identify new opportunities for revenue streams, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grant funding, and donor campaigns.
- Set annual fundraising targets and track progress against goals.
- Donor / Funder Relationship Management
- Oversee all aspects of donor stewardship, including managing the donor reporting schedule, fostering donor engagement, and coordinating donor communication.
- Prepare grant proposals, applications, and reports to secure and retain funding.
- Maintain compliance with funder requirements and deadlines.
- Event and Campaign Management
- Oversight of donor engagement at all official CEF events (including invite list).
- Play lead role in executing plans for events inclusive of budgeting, project scheduling, programme development, venue sourcing, preparing administrative briefs and ensuring a smooth programme for internal and external stakeholders.
- As required, work with other administrative teams on cross-functional projects as well as shared duties.
- Donor Communications Support
- Assist in developing stories and content to engage community, donors, and stakeholders. This includes social media, videos, collateral and website management.
- Design and craft proposals that align with the funding priorities of CEF.
- Collaborate with Operations team in producing regular donor annual report.
- Data Management
- Manage all aspects of donor and prospect database and serve as the point person for all data management matters.
- Track and analyse fundraising performance.
- Oversee all resources relating to fundraising related statistics and prepare regular reports for senior management and Board.
- Prospect Research
- Assist in identifying and qualification of prospective major gift donors.
- Collaborate closely with the Fundraising Committee on developing cultivation plans for prospective donors.
- Oversee and manage the donor pipeline.
- Any other ad hoc duties as and when assigned.
Requirements
Technical Competencies and Work Experience:
- A good university degree, preferably in marketing, communications or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including ability to effectively communicate with donors and prospects.
- Microsoft Office applications. (Office 365 – Words, Excel etc.)
- Able to work under pressure and meet datelines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in fund raising development or related roles in non-profit sector.
