Senior Accounts Specialist / Accounts Specialist, Accounts Receivable
UWCSEA Dover is seeking a Senior Accounts Specialist / Accounts Specialist, Accounts Receivable to join the Finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, Accounts Receivable, the Accounts Receivable – Senior Accounts Specialist / Accounts Specialist, Accounts Receivable will support the Line Manager to ensure AR function operates in compliance with financial policies, procedures and control, as well as to provide support to maintain the operational efficiency of the team as a whole.
This role is responsible for the processing of the day-to-day financial transaction, including verifying, classifying, recording and reconciling Accounts Receivable data.
Main Responsibilities
Operational Management- Process and verify incoming receipt for Term Bill, Sundry Billing, Non Billing receipt & other ad hoe receipt
- Process and support the reconciliation of College Shop, Global Concern and contingency transactions.
- Ensure accuracy in the cost center and accounts assignment when processing invoices and receipts.
- Provide support to perform Term Bill Refund and other ad hoc refunds from Activities, Trips and Programs
- Ensure all payment and refund status are updated in the parent’s portal on a timely basis
- Provide support to update, monitor and reconcile the contingency account for the boarders and scholars
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholder to ensure receipt and refunds queries are address timely
- Part of the College Petty cash custodian team. The team will be responsible for managing the petty cash fund, issuing cash to employees and students, collecting receipts, and reconciling the fund in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate AR month end and year end closing
- Provide support on the preparation of the documentation required for both Internal and External Audit
System Implementation and Enhancement
Provide support in the master data validation for new system, participate in User Acceptance Testing, assist in preparing test data, identify possible test scenario, document down the test results, and provide support for other project activities if required
Others- Perform other administrative duties e.g. Filing, sorting out incoming mails and responding to customers and other stakeholder’s queries; answer and attention to AR group inbox queries
- Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.
- Preferred ACCA Level 2 / Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent
- Fresh diploma graduates are welcome to apply
- Preferred 4 years Accounts Receivable (AR) or general accounting experience can be considered for Senior Accounts Specialist role
- Fresh diploma graduate will be considered for Accounts Specialist role
- Prior experience in the participation of new AR or Finance system rollout will be a bonus
- Knowledge of SAGE Finance systems is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
- Attention to detail and accuracy, proficient in data entry and management
- Excellent communication skills and team player mindset to collaborate with team member and functional departments
- Ability to organize, prioritise and multi-tasking
- Problem identification and solving skills ability to initiate appropriate actions
