Head of Consulting Business Development
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the regional market, a proven sales track record, and the ability to lead a dynamic team to achieve ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Development: Lead the development and execution of new business strategies for consulting services in Singapore and the broader Asia Pacific region. Focus on identifying and securing opportunities in key sectors such as finance, technology, government, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
- Sales Leadership: Drive the sales process from lead generation to closing deals, utilizing outbound cold calls, emails, inbound inquiries, and leveraging existing relationships. Own and exceed sales targets, with a particular focus on large-scale corporate consulting projects.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives, government officials, and key decision-makers to position Oxford Economics as a trusted partner for economic consultancy services.
- Consulting Services Articulation: Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Oxford Economics' consulting offerings, including corporate economic impact studies, sustainability reports, cost-benefit analysis, and socio-economic impact studies. Articulate the value of these services effectively to potential clients.
- Market Research & Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research to understand regional economic trends, industry developments, and client needs. Use this information to tailor sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing business development team. Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to junior team members, ensuring they meet their individual sales targets and contribute to the team’s overall success.
- Brand Building: Collaborate with the in-house marketing and economic consulting teams to raise the profile of Oxford Economics in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including organizing and facilitating executive round tables, conferences, and webinars.
- CRM & Reporting: Utilize CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) to manage the sales pipeline, track client interactions, and maintain accurate records of business development activities. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on progress against targets and key market developments.
Potential Sales Offerings: As Head of Consulting Business Development, you will be responsible for promoting a wide range of Oxford Economics' services, including but not limited to:
- Corporate Economic Impact Studies: Focus on large companies, particularly in the technology, finance, and energy sectors.
- Corporate Sustainability Reports: Specializing in scope three emissions and nature-related initiatives for large corporations.
- Transport & Infrastructure Consulting: Offering cost-benefit analysis and business case services for government projects, especially in the transport and infrastructure sectors.
- Construction Sector Services: Including cost escalation forecasts, market research reports, and advisory for construction and mining industries.
- Socio-Economic Impact Studies: For renewable energy projects and large-scale infrastructure developments.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven Sales Track Record: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in business development and sales, with a demonstrable history of exceeding targets in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Industry Expertise: A strong understanding of economic consulting services, industry trends, and key sectors such as finance, technology, infrastructure, and government.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers across diverse sectors and territories, particularly within the Singapore and Asia Pacific region.
- Leadership Skills: Experience leading, coaching, and growing a sales team. A hands-on leader who can inspire and drive results while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, identify new opportunities, and build long-term business relationships.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and internal teams.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
