Mechanical engineer (marine) - Toa Payoh

A "Mechanical Engineer Marine Manager" oversees the mechanical engineering aspects of marine vessels, managing the design, maintenance, and repair of all onboard machinery, ensuring optimal operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with maritime regulations, often leading a team of engineers and technicians responsible for vessel upkeep and repairs.

Key responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:Lead the design, installation, and maintenance of marine propulsion systems (diesel engines, electric propulsion, etc.).

• Project Management:Manage mechanical engineering projects on new vessel builds or retrofitting existing ships.

• Maintenance and Repair:Implement preventative maintenance programs for marine machinery to minimize breakdowns.

• Compliance and Safety:Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and classification society requirements

• Team Management:Lead and mentor a team of marine engineers and technicians

Provide technical guidance and support to the team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in marine vessel operations and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and piping systems
• Proficient in engineering design software (CAD, 3D modeling)
• Familiarity with ship classification society regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
