Junior/Legal Counsel - Toa Payoh

Responsibilities

Legal Support:

  • Perform and/or oversee legal research, write memoranda, assess legal risks, and keep up of legal developments, including newly enacted or modified laws and regulations from local governments.
  • Help with the creation, evaluation, and advice of legal opinions, resolutions, letters of intent (LOI), memorandums of understanding (MOU), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), commercial contracts, and other legal or compliance documents.
  • Carry out other relevant tasks as needed or assigned.

Administrative and Secretarial Assistance:

  • Assist with corporate secretarial tasks such creating board and shareholder meeting minutes and transaction resolutions.
  • Keep up-to-date records of all necessary communications and documentation, as well as an internal online database of contracts.

Program for Compliance:

  • Assist with ad hoc initiatives, compliance trainings, and compliance activities.
  • Offer assistance with matters pertaining to compliance, such as Aduit findings, System of Whistle Blowing
  • Keep regulatory and compliance papers, such as policies and procedures, current and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with coworkers and subsidiaries in the ASAO region to comprehend the essential needs of the business and operational procedures.
Requirements
  • A law degree or its equivalent
  • Qualification of an attorney in any jurisdiction
  • At least 2 years of experience practicing law in a firm or corporate setting
familiarity with legislation pertaining to business
  • Strong legal and contract analysis abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to oversee several ongoing projects or responsibilities
  • Competent with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in Microsoft Office
  • Capable of working both individually and together
  • Capable of interacting with individuals from a variety of backgrounds in a business context
  • Paying close attention to details and being meticulous
  • Traveling on business trips is a must.
