In Group Operations, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
The incumbent will lead and supervise a team of Trade Finance Document Checkers, who review and check Trade Finance application forms and documentations to ensure compliance to UCP rules, industrial standards, and internal bank policies.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of Trade Finance Document Checkers in terms of resource management, training and daily BAU challenges, if any.
- Ensure SOPs and existing/new controls are in place and adhere to by operating teams.
- Assist to review and check Trade Finance application forms and supporting Trade Documents for Import, Export and Standby LC products.
- Assist to review and check transfer LC application to ensure guidelines are complied with and terms and conditions are as per Export LC.
- Assist to review and check LC confirmation to ensure that terms and conditions are acceptable and workable.
- Assist to identify discrepancies, highlight irregularities and red flag items in documents for approval.
- Ensure trade documentations and it's on-going processes are compliance to UCP rules, ISP 98 rules, Anti-Money Laundering Guidelines, Terrorist Financing & Sanctions Regulations, and other related internal policies.
- Work with and supervise with team members to achieve daily tasks assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, external clients and internal stakeholders
- Review and opine on New Product/Processes involving/impacting doc checking teams
- Oversee daily operations and resolve issues to meet tight deadlines and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and service level agreements
- Analyze operations data to identify bottlenecks, recommend process improvements and ensure implementation of enhancements to drive efficiency
- Develop and monitor team KPIs and goals. Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching/training to develop team members' skills
- Represent the team and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on operations matters
- Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant Trade Finance Document Checking related experience.
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth knowledge of trade operations workflows and familiarity with related IT systems
- Detail-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- A team player with the drive and commitment to deliver excellence
- CDCS qualified, would be preferred
- Meticulous and detailed oriented
