Choa Chu Kang - General Manager

• Work with managers to develop a long-term strategic plan to include objectives for each business unit focusing on revenue growth, higher profitability, business development with focused marketing and sales plan, constant upgrade on technical facilities and equipment with technology, human resources, and team development.

Specific responsibilities:

• Achieve budget objectives in terms of revenue, operating profit margin, operating expenditure and optimal equipment utilization for all business units.
• Translate business strategy into pragmatic action plans and execute them cohesively.
• Monitor the market for the development of new technologies and trends.
• Negotiate and secure contracts for local and international clients.
• Promote the image, capability and integrity of the company to the clients.
• Take prompt responsive actions to complaints and appeals.
• Manage pre and post contract commercial issues.
• Ensure the best quality of execution with the effective use of resources.
• Ensure personnel competence requirements are met and continually enhanced.
• Identify, promote and groom future business leaders.
• Lead, coach and develop a business-oriented, high preformance team.
• Ensure adequate and appropriate safety arrangements are made to safeguard employees and meet the legislated requirements.
• Ensure the implementation of SGS Group policies and procedures across all levels within the Business Units.
• Applies judgment and acts according to SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in business management or engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of operational and management experience in a related field.
• Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal.
• Able to realize business opportunities in conformity to the business strategy.
• Technical knowledge and experience in related field and in using management methods and tools.
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
• Business and profit minded with related technical knowhow.
