We are seeking a highly motivated Product Specialist to join our Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) and Investment Advisory team. The successful candidate will support portfolio managers in managing discretionary mandates by preparing investment pitchbooks, monitoring portfolio positions, ensuring compliance with investment guidelines, conducting investment research, providing client advisory support, and assisting with portfolio tracking system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Relationship Management:

  • Assist in advising clients on portfolio strategies, asset allocation, and market trends in alignment with their investment objectives.
  • Prepare client presentations, portfolio reviews, and investment reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support portfolio managers in responding to client inquiries, providing market insights, and addressing portfolio-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless client service and retention.

Pitchbook Creation & Client Support:

  • Prepare and maintain high-quality pitchbooks and marketing materials for discretionary mandates, highlighting investment strategies, portfolio performance, and market insights.
  • Assist in preparing investment proposals and client presentations.

Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management:

  • Track and analyze portfolio positions, performance, and attribution to ensure alignment with investment objectives.
  • Identify and escalate deviations from asset allocation, risk limits, or investment guidelines.
  • Support rebalancing activities and portfolio optimization efforts.

Investment Compliance & Guidelines Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with internal investment policies, regulatory requirements, and client-specific mandates.
  • Monitor investment restrictions, exposure limits, and other compliance-related aspects.
  • Liaise with internal risk and compliance teams to address any discrepancies.

Investment Research & Market Analysis:

  • Conduct research on macroeconomic trends, asset classes, and market dynamics to support portfolio decision-making.
  • Assist in screening and evaluating investment opportunities across equities, fixed income, funds, and alternative assets.
  • Prepare research reports, investment memos, and data-driven insights for portfolio managers.

Support Ad Hoc Projects – Portfolio Tracking Systems & Enhancements:

  • Assist in the development and enhancement of portfolio tracking systems to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Work with internal technology teams to streamline data management, automate workflows, and improve system capabilities.
  • Support data validation, system testing, and integration efforts to enhance portfolio monitoring tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field – Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or related field. CFA or equivalent qualifications are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management concepts, asset allocation, and financial markets.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, investment performance metrics, and risk parameters.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate investment insights to clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Client-centric mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and relationship management.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, compliance, and risk management.
