We have an opportunity for a Manager, Business Development, Singapore. This role is based in Mandai Link and reports to the Vice President, Business Development Asia Pacific.
This is primarily a strategic account management position focusing on growing the temperature-controlled warehousing, transportation and related activities revenue in Singapore targeting customers in the food retail, trading, and manufacturing industry.The position will also be key to mentoring, leading and supporting new business development for sales growth and market expansion.
Key responsibilities include- Implement key customer account opportunities within Singapore
- Proactively monitor the overall progress of the project portfolio, helping identify issues and implementation of corrective action as appropriate, including the development of appropriate contingency plans
- Achieve agreed growth targets by implementing strategies to expand services with key customers or win new business
- Respond to and write tenders and proposals
- Project manage large tender proposals with the appropriate team support
- Engage in contract and service level negotiations with customers
- Ensure current contracts are managed in a way that meets customer expectation via agreed objectives
- Provide ongoing feedback from customers to operations management to ensure continuous improvement of services
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Company operational and administration capabilities and general industry trends
- Effectively represent the Company to the customer and report back via formal reviews and other management reports
- Implement the Customer Relationship Management system - Salesforce
- Provide Strong Leadership to mentor and motivate the BD/Sales team in achieving the yearly company set Sales Target objectives
To be successful, you will have:
- 7 years plus experience in a similar role, preferably within a 3PL, cold chain and trading environment
- Proven track-record of customer management, preferably at a senior level, and able to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions within a 3PL environment
- Exposure to, or knowledge of, refrigerated 3PL services
- Excellent understanding of supply chain and logistics operating models
- Process-focused and analytical by nature: able to support recommendations with data and competent research
- Sound consulting skills: good at working at both a strategic as well as at a tactical level
