Our client, a Japanese-listed high-quality Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, is seeking a Business Development Manager (EPC). This role is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, exploring new business opportunities, and leading proposals and negotiations to drive growth in the oil, gas, chemical, life sciences, and infrastructure sectors across Singapore and the APAC region.

You will report to the Director.

【 Responsibilities 】
  • Formulate sales strategies and carry out sales operations, including drafting bids in Singapore and its nearby markets in the APAC area.
  • Develop particular short-, medium-, and long-term sales strategies based on the company's business and operational policies, as well as drive sales growth and business performance to meet our targets.
  • Collect and assess market data and provide frequent reports to management, with a focus on prospects in the energy, chemical, life sciences, industrial, and urban infrastructure sectors in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
  • Create and implement strategies to seek new business prospects (new clients and business domains) in our target market.
Identify and address major issues in the company's business strategy through sales techniques.
  • Take the operational lead in developing and adjusting sales tactics to meet the company's financial targets.
  • Take the operational lead in developing and compiling proposals by working with appropriate divisions/departments of the firm to create the winning strategy.
  • Based on the sales strategy, take steps to discover new business possibilities (new clients and new business domains), as well as create and maintain trusted relationships with new customers.
  • Lead negotiations with customers in collaboration with the company's project team, including commercial and contractual matters. This job is particularly necessary to manage a variety of projects with several stakeholders (both internal and external), interact effectively with our clients, and have significant knowledge of the commercial side of the projects.
  • To create and sustain trusted relationships, and communicate with a variety of stakeholders in Singapore and throughout APAC, including shareholders, partners, appropriate government authorities, and customers (both existing and new).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce proposals, including technological ideas and solutions, to meet sales targets by providing the best available services and effective client communications.

【 Requirement & Preferences 】
(Must)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering field or business administration.
  • At least 7 years of sales experience in the Oil & Gas, life science, or infrastructure-related industries.
  • At least 3 awarded projects with a value of 50 million USD (50MM USD) or more.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese is essential to communicate with counterparts.
‐ Possess experience in project management, with the ability to manage the whole project lifecycle, from engineering design to material procurement and construction (EPC/EPCM).
  • In-depth practical knowledge and understanding of contractual practices and contracts in EPC projects.
(Advantageous)
  • Technical and/or engineering knowledge in energy, chemical, life sciences, industrial, and urban infrastructure is preferable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to think "outside the box" to solve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
