The Director, Strategic Partnerships & Business Development will be a key leader in driving Baker Tilly Singapore's growth strategy within the professional services sector. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships with government agencies, business associations, chambers of commerce, and key industry players.

The Director will also lead business development initiatives to expand Baker Tilly's client base and market share, particularly in the Firm’s target sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership Development
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key Singapore government agencies focused on SME development, business associations, chambers of commerce, and tertiary education institutions.
  • Develop and execute partnership agreements that align with Baker Tilly's strategic objectives.
  • Manage and nurture existing partnerships to maximise mutual benefit and long-term collaboration.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver on partnership commitments and initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain overseas connections with relevant government agencies, associations, and chambers, including those within the region and other strategic markets.
  • Build strategic partnerships with professional services firms and other multipliers to capture inbound business into Singapore for Baker Tilly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other professional services firms and financial institutions for collaboration and referral opportunities.
Business Development Leadership
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to expand Baker Tilly's client base and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target sectors, focusing on high-value advisory services.
  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and other sales materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects, leveraging an existing network of corporate and SME customers in Singapore.
  • Oversee the lead generation and management process, utilising CRM systems and other tools.
  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives and events to promote Baker Tilly's services and attract inbound business.
Market Analysis & Thought Leadership
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the professional services sector, particularly related to SME development.
  • Develop and disseminate thought leadership content to enhance Baker Tilly's brand reputation and expertise.
  • Represent Baker Tilly at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Team Management
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of business development professionals.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor team progress.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track partnership and business development performance.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on progress and results.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic partnerships and business development within the professional services sector
  • Proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships with Singapore government agencies focused on SME development, business associations, chambers of commerce, tertiary education institutions
  • Established and extensive network of local Singapore contacts within these organisations, other professional services firms, strategic partners, and a personal pool of corporate and SME customers in Singapore
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing professional services
  • Strong preference for candidates with established connections with relevant government agencies, associations, and chambers
  • Proven ability to build strategic partnerships with professional services firms and other multipliers to capture inbound business
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing initiatives and events
  • Strong understanding of the Singapore business landscape and regulatory environment, particularly concerning SME development
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and other business development tools
