Product Specialist (1 Year Contract)

Product Specialist, or Surgical instruments, provide crucial support in surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, handling instruments, and ensuring equipment availability. They manage sterile instrumentation, follow strict protocols for aseptic conditions, and collaborate effectively with the surgical team.
Additionally, Product Specialist contribute to equipment setup and maintenance, are trained for emergency response, stay updated on medical advancements, and exhibit precision and attention to detail to improve patient outcomes.
What will you be doing?- Attend assigned hospital at least one hour prior to each surgery
- Ensure availability and accurate set-up of Smith & Nephew products and instruments
- Place accurate products in the operating room to avoid unnecessary exits during surgery
- Check sterilization and working order of Company's products before surgery
- Follow assigned hospital's scrub policy for surgical preparation
- Count and document Smith & Nephew instruments and materials before and after surgery
- Understand accurate handling and use of all Company's products and instruments
- Clean and organize Company's instruments after each use, ensuring accurate return to logistics partner
- Inspect instruments and returned products for damage and report promptly
- Complete UID form with confirmed pricing for billing purposes
- Report surgeon and hospital's usage of Smith & Nephew products
- Provide feedback on Smith & Nephew products and competitors
- Act responsibly to ensure personal and company safety
- Align with workplace safety, health, and security policy
- Perform any other duties assigned within the role as needed
What will you need to be successful?
Success in the role will require a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization. Successful candidates would need the following:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the operating room (OT).
- Knowledge of clinical segments/product platforms is preferred.
