Job Responsibilities:

  • Legal and Compliance Strategy: Develop and execute the company’s legal and compliance strategies, offering training to ensure alignment with business goals, industry regulations, and best practices. Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Create policies and procedures aimed at minimizing non-compliance, reducing risk, and driving continuous improvement. Review documents such as data protection policies, terms of use, data transfer agreements, service contracts, franchise/license agreements, and other required legal materials.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and legal documents.
  • Legal Advice and Guidance: Provide legal advice and guidance on matters related to compliance, contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and operational issues.
  • Internal Investigations: Oversee internal investigations into potential compliance breaches, legal conflicts, or unethical conduct. Ensure these issues are resolved thoroughly and promptly.
  • Client Feedback, Complaints, and Internal Disputes: Handle client feedback, complaints, and any concerns raised by authorities, ensuring thorough investigation and timely responses.
  • Risk Assessment and Review: Lead risk assessments during client onboarding, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD). Ensure ongoing review and administration of these processes.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing legal team, offering mentorship, guidance, and support to foster team members' professional growth and success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree of Laws (LLB)
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in practicing law, both in Singapore and in-house.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial position.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with expertise in identifying and evaluating legal and compliance risks.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
