Lion City Rentals is Lion City Rentals is looking for an experienced Parts Manager to oversee our automotive parts inventory, procurement, and warehouse operations. This role is crucial in ensuring our workshop runs efficiently by managing stock levels, sourcing quality parts, and optimizing inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management and Demand Planning
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels, ensuring an optimal stock turnover rate.
  • Analyze usage trends and forecast demand to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Review slow-moving inventory and recommend strategies to optimize stock turnover.
Procurement and Supplier Management
  • Plan and oversee parts procurement from local and overseas suppliers to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and lead times, following up to avoid delays in stock availability.
  • Source new suppliers offering competitive pricing and high-quality parts.
  • Conduct market research on parts pricing and supplier networks to ensure cost efficiency.
Workshop and Warehouse Operations
  • Ensure all incoming parts are accurately received, recorded, and stored properly.
  • Oversee the issuance of parts to workshop mechanics and counter customers with minimal wait time.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and ensure timely updates in the inventory management system.
  • Implement pre-picking strategies to prepare parts in advance to reduce waiting times.
  • Work closely with the workshop and SA/ ARC team to ensure mechanics have the right parts for repairs and servicing.
Team Leadership and Process Improvement
  • Supervise and train parts and warehouse personnel, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and comply with safety regulations.
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate pricing and timely updates of cost and retail pricing in the system.
  • Regularly review and adjust profit margins based on market conditions.
  • Ensure all supplier invoices are processed and submitted to Finance on time.
  • Conduct monthly stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma holder with at least 5 years of experience in automotive parts management.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle spare parts, inventory management systems, and pricing procedures.
  • Resourceful in sourcing light vehicle spare parts from both local and overseas suppliers.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing a team.
  • Proficient in inventory software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
